The mother of all local food restaurants, founded by Alice Waters and friends in 1971. Reservations can be made one month ahead, either through Open Table or by calling their reservation line. Dinner at the Restaurant is always a fixed menu, with a slightly shorter (and cheaper) three course menu for $60 on Monday nights. The menu at the Cafe is a la carte. The food is always local and seasonal, and Chez Panisse has extensive relationships with farmers throughout California.
