We hope this site will make it easier for people who love local food to find chefs and neighbors who share their enthusiasm. About Us

Hi! This is Matt and Joanna, founders of Spoon and Trowel. We are Minnesota transplants who now happily reside in Brooklyn, NY. We love our neighborhood, and it’s had a lot to do with us falling for local food. Two years ago, we became members of our local CSA, and we’ve pretty much learned to cook based on the seasonal veggies we picked up every week. We’re not Hardcore Locavores; Joanna has a soft spot for bananas, and Matt would never survive without coffee. We just love to eat, and local food makes for the best eating!
